Our New Acoustical Consulting Office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
HGC Engineering, one of North America’s largest consulting engineering firms specializing exclusively in noise, vibration and acoustics, is pleased to announce the official opening of its new Western Canadian branch headquarters. The office, located in Calgary, Alberta, enhances our ability to serve and respond to the region and demonstrates our expanding commitment to our customers in Western Canada and the United States.
“We have been doing acoustical consulting work in Western Canada since our founding 25 years ago, but with a growing customer base in the region and the ongoing recovery in Alberta in particular, we felt it timely and necessary to offer a full-time, local presence and service offering to our western clients” said Brian Howe, HGC Engineering’s president.
Since its inception, HGC Engineering has worked on a diverse range of well-known commercial, residential, institutions and industrial projects in Western Canada, including the Eau Claire Tower and Versus Condominiums in Calgary; The Golden Ears Bridge in Vancouver; The Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences in Edmonton; the MacDonald Island Park, in Fort McMurray; and TransCanada Natural Gas Compressor Stations from coast-to-coast.
HGC Engineering’s Western Region office is being managed by Ian Bonsma, a Senior Associate acoustical engineer who has been with the firm since 2004. Ian has been serving and building our Western Canadian presence for some time, before finally relocating to Calgary this year to establish a permanent base for HGC Engineering in the region.
Ian’s acoustical engineering experience, and know-how with relation to local and federal regulations and by-laws have guided him in serving clients in Western Canada. Ian has broad experience in all market sectors where acoustics, noise and vibration consulting is called for.
“Ian and his staff in Calgary, supported by our Toronto-based team, will enable HGC Engineering to offer its Western Canada client base local ‘hands-on’ assistance in meeting their compliance, complaint and ongoing noise, vibration and acoustic challenges”, added Brian.
