What Your Day-To-Day Will Look Like
Projects at HGC span sectors, scales, and regions. One week you might be in the field collecting acoustic data; the next, leading a technical review with a client; and the next, back in the office crafting a final report. Rather than repeating the same type of work indefinitely, you’ll apply your expertise across a diverse range of challenges that make every project genuinely engaging, technically interesting, and varied. And beyond the work itself, we’re intentional about building a strong team culture — through social events and charitable initiatives that reflect who we are and what we value.

Hear From Our Team
Real perspectives from engineers and support staff who love what they do
“I’ve been at HGC for almost 7 years now, and I can’t imagine finding a better group of people to work with. Over my time here, I have been supported as a junior engineer in training straight out of undergrad, all the way to senior engineer and project manager, already with shareholder equity ownership in the company. If you’re looking for an opportunity to learn from the best in the industry, grow as an engineer, and get exposure to all facets of noise & vibration engineering, this is the place to do it!”
“Since starting at HGC in 2024, I have seen significant growth in both my character and skill set across a range of areas. Key developments include an increased knowledge of acoustics and vibration, as well as stronger collaboration within a team environment.
The most enjoyable aspect of working at HGC is the opportunity to engage in new and challenging problems that push the limits of my abilities and expand my knowledge base. A notable example involved work on a generator–engine set for a public healthcare facility. This project was especially rewarding, as it meant contributing to critical infrastructure that serves the community while learning about order-tracking analysis for engines—an area I had not been exposed to previously.
I would recommend HGC to anyone who values collaborative work in meaningful industries and who is naturally curious, inquisitive, and brings a positive attitude.”
“I found the training modules really helpful for building a solid foundation in acoustics. Everyone at HGC is approachable and willing to share what they know, which makes a big difference when you are starting out. I would definitely recommend HGC to anyone looking for a supportive environment with plenty of growth opportunities.”
“Since joining HGC, I’ve grown both professionally and technically, particularly in my understanding around sound/noise/acoustics and its real-life implications. In-terms of working at HGC, I really enjoy the flexibility and genuine support that I’m able to receive through my colleagues and supervisors while learning the role. I also enjoy the vast array of interesting projects and site visits that we get to be a part of, many of which have a significant impact on industries across Canada and the United States!
While working here, there have been many moments and opportunities that stood out to me, but some in particular are the social events that I get to be a part of, which really helped me to bond and connect with my co-workers on a deeper level. I would recommend HGC to anyone because of their adherence to their core values, their flexibility, their authentic support, and the interesting/impactful projects that we get to be a part of!”
“I’ve been with HGC for over 20 years and have grown through a variety of administrative roles as the company has evolved. Along the way, I’ve been trusted to take on new responsibilities, encouraged to build new skills, and shape the processes and programs that support the people behind the work. Becoming a shareholder made that journey more meaningful — it reflects how HGC recognizes contribution and invests in people as they grow. It’s a place where you can build a real career, and why I’m proud to have built mine here.”
