Invista Nylon Production Facility

This factory, formerly owned by DuPont Canada, makes industrial nylon yarn. It is shipped to other locations across North America where it is made into things such as carpets and airbags. A comprehensive acoustic assessment was undertaken by HGC to consolidate the many environmental approvals for this facility into one site-wide approval. Because of the density and complexity of the noise sources, extensive use of sound intensity techniques was necessary, along with long-term automated monitoring and recording of sound levels off-site.

- Conducted detailed acoustical assessment reports and audits in accordance with Ontario Ministry of the Environment procedures
- Specified noise controls
- Developed a noise abatement action plan
