JTC Corporation is a Singaporean state-owned real estate company. The corporation, run under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, currently manages 4 Wafer Fab Parks in Singapore on a total land area of approximately 350 hectares. The activities at the parks are mainly semi-conductor wafer fabrications that generally require a very low vibration environment due to the highly vibration-sensitive nature of wafer production. JTC has imposed a list of prohibited usages and activities in a 1km buffer zone around the parks, to safe-guard the semi-conductor production-friendly ambient environment. JTC contracted Ryobi G ( a Singapore based geotechnical engineering firm) and HGC Engineering to review the current list of prohibited usages and construction activities and the existing buffer zone to ensure they all remain relevant and up-to-date. We also were asked to suggest suitable vibration monitoring programs, as well as vibration mitigations and control measures where and if required.
