HGC Engineering is currently providing acoustical consulting services for a new Student Commons at University of Toronto’s St. George Campus in downtown Toronto. The project involves renovations to an existing heritage building that originally was built for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in 1909 and previously housed the University of Toronto’s School of Architecture. Key features of the new LEED Gold-targeted building include: a destination food-court; multipurpose spaces for meeting/studying; a dance music performance rehearsal space; a multi-faith prayer room; student clubs and groups meeting/workshop spaces; administrative offices, lounge areas and a green roof.
