The Well is a landmark mixed-use development in Toronto’s King West neighbourhood, designed as a vibrant urban hub where people can live, work, shop, and gather. Anchored by a dramatic covered pedestrian promenade and the European inspired Wellington Market, the project brings together retail, dining, office space, and residences in a highly connected downtown destination.
Spanning 7.5 acres, the development comprises seven buildings ranging from 14 to 46 storeys. It includes 54 commercial units, 12 restaurants, and a large open‑air market and food hall extending through the lower levels of the residential buildings as well as one commercial tower. Across six of the buildings, The Well provides 1,700 residential suites in a mix of luxury condominiums and premium purpose‑built rentals.
Designed with an emphasis on environmental sustainability, The Well integrates office, retail, and residential functions into a cohesive urban ecosystem. The project is registered under the LEED green building rating system and has achieved LEED Platinum certification.
HGC served as the acoustical consultant of record for this transformative, multi‑faceted development—one of the most significant mixed‑use projects in Toronto’s recent history, providing comprehensive acoustical services across all six residential buildings, the office tower, the podium areas, and the conference centre on the P2 level. We also provided acoustical consulting services in for Sweat & Tonic’s fit out The Well.
