The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), colloquially known as The Mounties, is the national police force of Canada, and one of the most recognized of its kind in the world. It is unique in the world as a national, federal, provincial and municipal policing body.  The RCMP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) is the first point of contact for crime investigators and clients requiring laboratory analysis.

HGC Engineering was asked by the Mounties to assesses the vibration impact from mechanical systems and occupant activities on scanning electron microscopes used in the automated analysis of gunshot residues, and provided recommendations for vibration control and isolation.
