Queen Richmond Centre West (QRC West) is a 350,000 ft² office/retail complex located in Toronto’s downtown core. It combines the best of urban intensification development, heritage structure preservation and green LEED Gold building design. QRC West is a model of old and new integration. The project sets itself apart with the preservation of a 4 storey brick-facade heritage building resting below a new state-of-the-art 13 storey commercial tower. Integrating the two structures is a dramatic 5-storey atrium featuring three 70-foot-tall delta steel frames which, together with the heritage building, help support the new office tower. HGC provided comprehensive acoustical consulting engineering services to the project through the DD/CD design phases.
