Lambton Thermal Generating Station

Sarnia

Location: Courtright, Ontario
Owner/Operator: Ontario Power Generation

Ontario Power Generation’s  Lambton Generating Station  is located on the St. Clair River, just south of Sarnia, Ontario. Its two operating electricity generating units are capable of producing 950 megawatts of power. Historically, with four generating units, the station’s annual electricity production has been as high as 12 billion kilowatt-hours, enough to supply about 1 million homes for a year.

An acoustic baseline audit of this large-scale coal-fired power plant was undertaken by HGC in contemplation of future alterations/expansions to the facility. The applicable sound level limits were established based on the existing ambient sound levels in the vicinity.
