HGC provided comprehensive acoustical consulting services to this state-of-the-art teaching, learning and research facility that serves as a home for liberal arts students and faculty. Inside the 150,000 square-foot, LEED Gold, five-storey building, students have access to a 350-seat Concert Hall and associated support spaces; a 150-seat black-box theatre; a 400-seat multi-purpose lecture theatre; 14 music practice studios plus a large percussion studio; several interactive classrooms of varying size; community outreach spaces as well as a Café and student commons. The $55-million structure holds a number of new facilities shared between the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Social Sciences including various specialized labs: a NeuroVox Lab, a Language Memory and Brain Lab, a Phonetics Lab, a Music Lab, an Eye Tracking Lab and a Centre for Study of Language.
