Hydro One is a crown corporation of the Province of Ontario. The company is involved in the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of Ontario’s transmission and distribution network. The transmission system carries electricity from generating stations to local distribution companies and large industrial customers through a high-voltage network of transformer stations, transmission towers and wires. Hydro One own 97% of transmission in Ontario with almost 30,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines.
Acoustical consulting services delivered:
- Conducted detailed acoustic assessment reports and audits in accordance with Ontario Ministry of the Environment procedures
- Specified noise controls
- Assisted in preparing staged noise control plans
- Developed an equipment-specific screening procedure for identifying mathematically (without visiting the site) which power distribution station sites are likely to produce low off-site sound levels, and thus do not require detailed acoustic assessments
