The $16.2 million facility has 42,000 square feet of space and easily houses the library’s current collection of about 80,000 books and has room for that collection to grow to 170,000.
It features a community performance and meeting room, heritage room, computer lab, children’s area, wi-fi Internet access, 10 seating areas, four meeting rooms, seven study rooms and staff office space.
Furthermore, the building has achieved LEED Gold status.
HGC provided acoustical consulting and design guidance for the library institute.
