When completed 1 Yorkville will be a 58-storey tower with 577 suites, and include five levels of underground parking, a dance studio, a yoga room, hot tub, a spa, multiple pools, a fitness studio, a lounge, games room, a rooftop deck and ground-floor retail. The building planned for the southwest corner of Yorkville Avenue. and Yonge Street, will be wrapped in what the building’s designer is calling “3-D wallpaper,” a facade made up of 2,600 identically shaped pieces of metal that’s intended to generate dramatic changes in light, shadow and color based on where it’s viewed from. The development will also incorporate at its base an entire block of fully restored buildings that date back to the 1860s. HGC has been providing comprehensive acoustical engineering on this project.
