In this role, you’ll provide consulting services in noise, vibration, and acoustics on projects across Canada, the United States, and abroad. You will collaborate with a talented team to serve clients in diverse market categories, including commercial, residential, industrial, academic, civic/institutional, scientific/healthcare, transportation, defense/security, and more.
Your Key Functions & Responsibilities
- Manage projects independently, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and Excellence standards, with access to team support as needed.
- Manage direct reports and/or assigned project staff, providing technical guidance, support, mentoring and coordination for their responsibilities.
- Serve as the primary client contact, preparing proposals, responding to inquiries, and fostering strong client relationships.
- Conduct field measurements for noise, vibration, and acoustics using advanced instrumentation, and analyze or review data to develop tailored solutions.
- Prepare and present technical reports, collaborating with clients to evaluate alternatives and implement effective outcomes.
- Drive business development initiatives, supporting corporate growth and nurturing long-term client partnerships.
- Maintain expertise in specialized technical areas by contributing to publications, conferences, and thought leadership efforts.
- Represent the company professionally to clients, regulators, and industry collaborators, supporting internal teams as required.
Your Characteristics, Skills & Knowledge

- Reliable and self-driven, with a proactive approach to managing priorities.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects, budgets, and timelines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data collection, reporting, and project execution.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to convey complex information to technical and non-technical audiences (additional languages are a plus).
- In-depth knowledge of acoustical engineering principles, practices, standards, codes, and regulations, with proven experience designing and implementing solutions for diverse markets.
- Leadership skills to guide, mentor, and train others in acoustical engineering principles.
- Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate acoustical considerations into overall project designs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess challenges and deliver innovative, effective acoustical solutions and approaches.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for travel to client sites.
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and locations, and comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, as may be required (training will be provided as required).
Your Education & Career Experience
- An undergraduate degree in engineering, physics, acoustics, or a related field of study is required. Graduate degree(s) in engineering or science in a field related to acoustics and vibration considered an asset.
- A minimum of 8 years of direct/related experience is required, 10+ is preferred.
- Registered with Professional Engineers Ontario as a P.Eng. or have a comparable certification.
- Experience working in a dynamic consulting environment and/or in any of the architecture, engineering, and construction industries is preferred.
