Join our dynamic team as a co-op or internship student supporting consulting projects in noise, vibration, and acoustics, under the supervision of professional engineers. This opportunity offers hands-on experience through fieldwork, data analysis, technical reporting, and environmental and architectural assessments. With guidance from experienced teammates, you’ll contribute to real-world projects across Canada, the U.S., and abroad – spanning sectors such as transportation, industrial, commercial, residential, academic, healthcare, and civic/institutional. Project work may include noise and vibration control, architectural acoustics, and vibration isolation in buildings and infrastructure. The variety and volume of our work offer a balance of familiar tasks and new challenges to support your ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities
Your key functions & responsibilities
This role offers valuable exposure to real-world assessments and client-driven projects in a consulting setting. You will support a variety of field and office-based tasks. Your responsibilities may include:
- Measuring and assessing road and rail traffic noise levels using specialized equipment
- Conducting noise and vibration monitoring in industrial workplaces and outdoor environments
- Assisting with the development of noise models for indoor (architectural) acoustics
- Supporting the preparation of technical reports for noise impact assessments
- Participating in site visits and fieldwork to collect acoustic data
- Collaborating with engineers and project managers on active consulting assignments
- Ensuring data quality and contributing to project documentation
- Provide support to our engineering and administrative teams as needed
Qualifications
Your characteristics, skills & knowledge

- An interest in acoustics, environmental assessment, or related fields
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accurate data collection, clear reporting and quality-conscious work
- Proactive and self-driven, capable of managing and adapting to changing priorities, staying focused on tasks, and meeting deadlines effectively
- Ability to manage time effectively by planning tasks, staying organized and contributing to timely project delivery
- Strong problem-solving skills for data interpretation and solution development
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute effectively within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written; additional languages are an asset for client and team interaction
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle for travel to client sites
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and locations, and comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, as may be required (for which training will be provided as appropriate/required
Your education & career experience
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in engineering, physics, acoustics, or a related field of study (required)
- Preferred or considered an asset:
- Education and/or work experience in noise/vibration/acoustics
- Having worked in a dynamic consulting environment and/or in any of the architecture, engineering, and/or construction industries
- Experience with digital measurement instrumentation and/or field inspections
